- In our film, we will not be including a lot of dialogue, as we do not feel we need too. At the beginning there will be some, and also at the end. But we are keeping it to a minimum in order for our audience to be on the edge of their seats just by hearing the music. We will not have much dialogue as from the beginning our characters will be separated in order to make them more vulnerable, and what happens to them will be kept a secret.
At the beginning, this dialogue will be used.
Girl number two: Where are your parents?
Girl number one: They're away for the weekend, so girly night in.
Shortly into the film, this dialogue will be used.
Girl number one: I swear I just saw something at the window, it might be next door checking on me. One second.
Girl number two: Okay, see you in a minute.
Through the rest of the opening minutes, no dialogue will appear until the end.
Bad guy: You're the last one left.
Piercing scream.
News report comes onto TV.
Police man: This is the hardest case I've ever been on, the man has never been sighted. The only way we know who he is, is by his signature bloody hand down the window of the house he has attacked.
12.03.12 UPDATE -
End of film
We have decided not to have our bad guy saying 'you're the last one left', as it did not fit in with how we wanted the scene to look. (girl two going upstairs to find bad guy and screaming) therefore there will be no dialogue and instead there will just be a scream from girl two.
News report
We have decided to scrap the news report idea, as we have chosen to just have the bad guy walking away into the darkness instead, with no follow on to show how he can never be caught. Also due to changing the beginning (by having newspapers etc) we simply do not have enough time.
